I share this video as a member Scout for the Orange Team from the Hungrr Group and co-founder of the Cultural Fusion OutPost at Facebook where I invite you to connect. While Hungrr 's focus is on hunger in America, Cultural Fusion projects such as "Rehearsal Flash Mob" are establishing a deeper context for discussions/action towards addressing the issues associated with poverty. What potential is hidden within affirmation that can not be seen through the lens of protest? The Hungrr project has injected some humor into things as you are about to see... Radical Inclusion and the connection to peace now Ending modern day slavery and human trafficking today starts with including the voices of those that have survived the experience. Organizations and activists to stop the human trafficking and slavery will join us in this powerful demonstration of Cultural Fusion Art as Philosophy. more info to come... | Rehearsal Flash Mobs A flash mob (or flashmob[1]) is a large group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, perform an unusual action for a brief time, then quickly disperse. The term flash mob is generally applied only to gatherings organized via social media or viral emails, rather than those organized by public relations firms or for a publicity stunt. Source:Wikipedia What? Context: In the same way that a candy dispenser or vacuum cleaner is transformed by its inclusion in a work of art aka Art:Work, so to is this the case with actions, services and other products such as Attention. But its value is reduced by commodification so research is needed. That is one area of interest in this work as Art Based research. As you will see mentioned later "People do not need to understand the intellectual concepts related to the work as art based research to participate and share the best of themselves." My interest is in Radical Inclusion so there are multiple ways in which you can participate. If anything is not clear to you contact me via Twitter @ydubel or one of the Cultural Fusion Groups. Leading up to the International Day of Peace I would like to use social media outlets as a canvas uniting divergent action/colors to explore Radical Inclusion as a practical achievement in the journey to creating a culture of peace. The work will document a series of collaborative actions - moments where people are united by performance art to experience active participation in a culture of peace. If the future is created by a series of moments, creating a culture of peace is dependent upon cultivating the intention to experience more of these moments. Furthermore how to do this in a way that will support self organization and freedom. Since historically economies have been spurred by war/conflict/competition- How do we chart a new course to experience economic growth that advances peace? Business Owners and Managers: See PowerPoint Storyboard slides "cfBranding-Social-Art" a work in progress to explore how this relates to the private sector and branding. When? There is a Native American saying that was shared by Cherrie Callazo of Gia Global Marketing in an episode of the Cultural Fusion Experience - the meeting begins when everyone shows up. So when does this piece begin? When the right people show up. The basis of the work is a model called SoulFood and paramount is that we build on what you already wanted to do. Then we see how the pieces can fit together to deliver the creative vision that brought us together. As we find performance artists who can lead the way in kicking this off - they'll be the ones who tell me when we will start :-) So far our friends in the Bay area are indicating within the next 70 days but that is not firmed up yet. Starting on the day of the event at the designated time and continuing until Sept. 21 where will be partnering with projects supporting organizations such as Pathways to Peace How can you participate? SoulFood:Ingredients: Intentional acts as performance in the context of an Art:Work People do not need to understand the intellectual concepts related to the work as art based research to participate and share the best of themselves. On the ground performances - 1. Performance Artists - musical, dramatic or otherwise visual display- ideally more than one person so that at least one person is there to be in the observation role and another to be observed in relation to expressing the intention of the piece. 2. Visual Artists- "attention branding" of loved local beneficiary cause(s) - a cause loved by participants is expressed as a brand by somehow representing them at the location where performance occurs. 3. Artists/Volunteers to Organize & Collect old cell phones and PDAs to be recycled as fundraiser for selected cause or collect food for local food bank. This includes coordinating with organization that benefits to pickup collections. Photos or video of the journey is what needs to be documented. This can be taken as far as collaborators are interested in going. 4. Nonprofits - Provide or accept an Attention Sponsorship. What this means is you work with an artist or group of artists to raise funds and donations (see cell phone recycling & food bank donations above) or raise awareness "attention branding" display, performance, etc. 5. The Public - people that encounter the collection locations can donate food or a phone/PDA to be recycled 6. During the happening everyone is asked to post pictures and video of their experience on Twitter and any other social media outlet as long as it allowed public access without membership. Meaning anyone can view them. The images to this content is Tweeted to @culturalfusion @ydubel Virtual performances - Advancing the idea of Radical Inclusion and why the Internet has made this possible. 1. Twitter followers of @ydubel and fellow listeners on Blip.fm, last.fm are asked to post music the world needs to know about to Twitter by adding "@culturalfusion @ydubel" to the posted Tweet and then adding @culturalfusion to the tags for the song at Blip.fm and last.fm 2. 3D Virtual World Musicans - may share pics, audio or video from VR performances What I do during the happenings: 1.Prior to event times @ydubel and @culturalfusion will post locations for on the ground happenings with map links. 2. I will prepare and distribute the press release mentioning artists and organizations benefiting with contact info or with link to web page providing those details as provided. 3. During the happenings I will periodically use video and "snap shots" capture to record your tweet contributions using TweetDeck(beta) from multiple computers . 4.I will re-post Tweets (RT=retweet) being sent by other artists and participants, especially links that prominently communicate your cause or include a link to their web page or press about their work. 5.Using Tweetlater I will auto-post excerpts from a Twitterview with social media artist An Xiao with Hrag Vartanian After and between happenings 1. Automate select tweets for RTing - especially images and video 2. Develop generated content and tweets into video to be included in installations online and on site. 3. Selections from this pool of songs tweeted will be featured on the Cultural Fusion Experience radio show and the artists invited on to be interviewed. 4. Again using Tweetlater, leading up to Sept 21st, favorite song tweets will be RT automatically at the hour that emerges as significant during the process. 5. Tweets, images, and video content generated will be featured in a series of blog posts sharing lessons learned and the people who made each possible. Look for Inspiration Share it when you find it. |
